








ASH VASE WITH YAKISUGI FINISH
Made from English ash and turned in December 2024.
Finished with an ancient Japanese technique called Yakisugi.This is done by using a flame to cause charring on the surface of the wood which is then sanded smooth.
Ash is a very strong wood and has a lovely eye catching grain which is heighlighted through this type of finish.
Finished using shellac sanding sealer and clear wax to nourish and enhance the wood.
Perfect for those dried flowers / artistic twigs or as an ornamental piece.
This vase measures
160 mm Tall
50 mm Diameter with a bored out hole that is 60 mm deep.This vase has a prominent shaped neck for that distinguished look.
